Lemsford Local History Group have the original articles from the Bishop's Hatfield Parish Magazine (held by Welwyn Garden Library at the Campus). We have extracted all the articles between 1914 to 1919 which relate to War, Servicemen, including joining up, injuries, deaths and awards .They give us an understanding of life in the Parish of Lemsford in those dark years of the Great War and an insight into how the war was a great patriotic celebration in the first few years to the horror that it became including a dark 11 days in July 1916 when 4 men from Lemsford died on the somme.Read about the home front and Church news.
